What is Hinge Drilling?

TOP HINGE HOLE BOTTOM HINGE HOLE PRE-DRILLED BY US

Hinge drilling means we pre-drill the hinge cup holes directly into your door before dispatch — so it's ready to hang straight away without any additional drilling on your end.

Select Yes to have us pre-drill the hinge holes for you. You will then be asked to provide the top and bottom hole measurements so we drill them in exactly the right position.

How to Measure the Top Hole

mm TOP EDGE OF DOOR CENTRE OF HOLE Always measure in millimetres

The Top Hole (mm) is the distance from the top edge of your door to the centre of the top hinge hole.

  • 1 Remove one of your existing doors from its hinges and lay it flat on a clean surface
  • 2 Place your tape measure at the very top edge of the door
  • 3 Measure down to the centre of the top hinge hole
  • 4 Record this measurement in millimetres (mm) and enter it above
Example: If the centre of your top hinge hole is 80mm from the top edge of your door, enter 80 in the Top Hole field.

The Bottom Hole (mm) is the distance from the bottom edge of your door to the centre of the bottom hinge hole.

  • 1 Remove one of your existing doors from its hinges and lay it flat on a clean surface
  • 2 Place your tape measure at the very bottom edge of the door
  • 3 Measure up to the centre of the bottom hinge hole
  • 4 Record this measurement in millimetres (mm) and enter it above
